What will happen after schools return to their usual routine
And those schools that remained on the previous platform until they switched to EPOS successfully used this opportunity of diaries and journals of the past generation. Well, the fact that we began to saturate schools with technology made it possible to transfer about 4.5 thousand laptops and computers to teachers and about a thousand more computers – to children for them to study. And we did all this very quickly.
Did you have to raise additional funding?
We needed additional funds, first of all, in order to purchase computers for low-income children, but the paradox is that most of these children are located exactly where there is no Internet. A computer without the Internet is useless: yes, you can do something offline, but this is for two or three days, and for permanent work you need access to the Network. Therefore, now we are awaiting a decision at the federal level regarding the expansion of the Internet coverage area – this, of course, will require funds.
Now is the time to move on to personal matters. Who is a role model for you, an ideal that you want to be equal to?
That’s my mom. She is a very bright, kind, active person. Parents are not very involved in my activities, I don’t tell them much about what I do. Sometimes they find out everything from the media.
I would like to be a scientist, but I do not have the necessary talents to pursue scientific disciplines
I don’t really like discussing working moments with them, because more and more often I want to discuss personal and family relationships and just talk.
You are the undisputed leader of the student body, what qualities do you need to possess to be such a leader?
Many people achieve different heights, but despite the position you occupy in society, you still need to be kind, decent and honest.
Kind, decent, honest, there should be no obsession with positions and regalia, with how much you earn.
If you had the opportunity to live the life of a literary hero, what kind of life would you choose?
I would like to be a scientist, but I do not have the necessary talents to engage in scientific disciplines, or I would like to study the world around me, the animal world, the underwater world, I would like to understand this. I would like to capture all this on film.
And, to be honest, it would be interesting for me to engage in creative activities. I am insanely inspired by writers, artists.
I would like to be in this utah essay scholarships about being a hero creative world.
Were you more interested in natural sciences or humanities at school?
I am a humanist. I was not focused only on schooling. I loved to learn a lot myself. Additional activities were important for me, and a lot depended on the teacher.
At some time I liked literature, then I stopped liking it, it was connected with the teachers who surrounded us. I loved many subjects, was very fond of sports.
At school, I created a football team, played hockey. I was one of the best in school in terms of standards, I always passed everything.
That is, passing the TRP standards is not a problem for you?
How do you spend your free time if it appears?
I try to pay a lot of attention to various exhibitions. Now I’m trying to learn what I can’t, for example, draw. Whenever possible I go in for sports – tennis and badminton, I am madly in love with these sports and I want to participate in various amateur championships, so I am now preparing for this.
What do you think is now needed for distance learning to be truly high-quality?
First, I hope that distance learning is not for long, because children still need to go to school, communicate with peers and with adults.
We do not believe that distance learning is a complete replacement for conventional learning. But in the current situation there is no choice.
What can help make the distance better? First of all, the Internet and technology. But you also have to work with children. There are some guys who are not motivated to work on their own: dads and mothers complain that they cannot force them to start studying. This turned out to be a huge problem. And so psychologists, class teachers and parents themselves will have to work closely with them.
An important part of improving the distance learning situation is working with parents who believe that distance education is bad. Many believe that they themselves teach the children at home, while the teachers do nothing. And we want to somehow show what the teachers really did, how they do it and why. Such work is very much needed.
What kind of help is provided to teachers, parents, children themselves, if something is not working out for them?
The Perm Territory is the first region in Russia, where on March 27 they began to issue food packages to schoolchildren from low-income families and some other privileged categories. For us, it was the number one task to feed children in isolation, especially from low-income families. A little later, a similar decision was made for preschoolers from three to seven years old. Very quickly I had to work out everything, prepare a regulatory framework, local acts, and, of course, allocate money from the reserve fund of the regional government.
It is also the discovery of free resources. We even agreed with those companies that were initially paid – they opened their resources for schools, for parents. Because it is clear that in this situation every penny is expensive and I would not want to spend it on training. Naturally, we have developed all the guidelines. We both before and now conduct endless consultations for teachers, that is, we work in full mode so that we do not have those teachers who cannot work in the new conditions.
There is “Yandex.Update”, with which we have been cooperating since 2018 and which has always been free. This is a very good and complete resource for grades 1-5 that our teachers love. Recently, it became possible not only to issue assignments, but also to conduct full-fledged lessons in video format. What is also important: there is support from Yandex, training of teachers and their methodological support.
What new skills and knowledge do you think teachers and schoolchildren will end up with this academic year?
I think that teachers will understand: the use of digital educational resources is a very good assistant in education. Online can help the teacher to communicate with children, and help children themselves to open up. After all, not everyone can work at the pace that is offered in the classroom, but at their own pace, some guys showed themselves just brilliantly. Children are different, you can work with them in different ways, and there are a huge number of tasks that can be offered to children. And you don’t have to explain everything! You can make the child look for material on his own, and this skill is important to develop.
In addition, teachers and parents will understand each other better, and this understanding will continue even when they return to their usual circumstances.
That is, now, in fact, we are undergoing emergency digitalization?
It seemed to us that we were planning and implementing the transition to the EPOS platform and digitalization in general rather quickly, but it turned out that this had to be done at an even more accelerated pace. What will happen after the schools return to their usual routine? Distance education should not replace full-time education, I am deeply convinced of this, but using the elements of distance education, primarily digital educational resources and platforms, is already today, and we must continue to develop this.
What advice can you give to parents, students?
First of all, I wish everyone good health. And I ask you to be more patient with the situation. We do everything possible and even impossible to ensure that our children receive knowledge sufficient to successfully study further.
The most relevant news today is the elections of the Commissioners for the Rights of Students in universities, which will be held in the fall. Simply put, now every university will have its own so-called student human rights activist. How will this institution work and what will be the mechanism for filing complaints from students on wrongdoing?
The student should be well aware that after he has approached the student representative, his problem should be solved. Further, there are already certain mechanisms within the university that are used by the human rights activist. Here everything can be different.
Any student leader should have the right to express his position before the administration, the rector of the university. Often, these or those employees, teachers who make a decision, for example, about illegal expulsion, infringe on the rights.
